Intrinsic Knowledge
Applied Thermodynamics/Physical
Properties
We use our knowledge of the physical properties of
chemical compounds to design news plants, develop new equipment and
carry out feasibility studies for new processes. Usually we obtain
the physical properties from our proprietary databank, but we can
also determine them experimentally or make estimates using
state-of-the-art methodologies.
Heat Transfer
We can calculate the service areas of e.g.
reboilers and condensers, using dedicated calculation programs.
Mixing
We can help with the conceptual design, specification
and selection of mixing systems.
Process Dynamics and Control
We have in-house expertise in process operations,
including connecting in-plant sensors and valves to process control
system and developing the appropriate software. We can also provide
training before and during system start-up.
Exergy and Pinch Analysis
We carry out exergy and pinch analyses and help
customers evaluate the results thus obtained. We also use advanced
techniques to optimize energy consumption.
Pressure Equipment Directives
Pressure equipment directives (PEDs) are European
rules which ensure that installations are designed according to
approved specifications. We can help you design or modify a plant in
accordance with these rules.
Good Manufacturing/Engineering
Practice
We can help you apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
and Good Engineering Practices (GEP) – the guidelines formulated by
the EU European Union for proper manufacturing of human and
veterinary drugs.
Flowsheeting and Simulation Tools
We use a variety of models, including Aspen, in the
design phase. These are also useful in arriving at a better
understanding of existing processes.
