Safety Testing and Modeling
In our world-class safety laboratory, we have the necessary tools and knowledge to help you identify hazards and risks in critical areas of your operations. For example, we can measure the characteristics of fire and explosion hazards and risks related to raw materials, intermediates and end- products. We then simulate plant conditions and measure likely impacts. The results are used to draw up tailored prevention and protection strategies, including the design of emergency relief systems. In addition we carry out classification tests to ensure that potentially hazardous products comply with EU and UN standards for storage and transport.
Based on advanced computer models and experimental simulations, we
assess the hazards of substances and operations, as well as the
effectiveness of emergency strategies and evaluations of large-scale
accident scenarios. Key topics include vapor cloud dispersion,
quantitative risk modeling and designing emergency relief systems.
We provide multilingual Emergency Response services 24/7 to
ensure an effective initial response should an incident occur.

We operate
several highly sophisticated experimental facilities in
Deventer, the Netherlands.
These purpose-built safety research laboratories are equipped with 14 concrete test cells, allowing the safe assessment of potentially hazardous products and processes. This laboratorie contains a vast number of specialized standard- and proprietary test equipment. A separate large-scale test cell and a completely closed testing device (‘Total Containment Tank’) are available for performing large-scale experiments.
