Workshop Globally Harmonized System
Very important changes in Classification and Labeling are coming soon, as all around the world countries adopt the new Globally Harmonized System (GHS). This is an internationally agreed upon system set to replace the various different classification and labeling standards used in different countries. The legislation for the EC will be ratified upon towards the end of this year and for substances must be implemented by December 2010.

Managers, as well as R&D chemists, this will mean that they will be
seeing new label contents for raw materials and products and changed
phrases on Safety Data Sheets which must be clear and the required
actions taken.
Akzo Nobel Technology & Engineering has arranged two separate
workshops on GHS to be held on October 21st and November 4th 2008 to enable people to understand the new system.
